Dear KCDC Parents/Guardians,
Kochenderfer Church is scheduled for a repair to our boiler system today, Tuesday, January 24.
We plan to open and operate our day care center on the regular scheduled operating hours tomorrow. However, in the event the building temperature falls below the state mandated level for operation, our staff will contact you about picking your child(ren) up from the center. Please make plans accordingly.
Thank you for allowing Kochenderfer UMC to minister to your child(ren) each day through Kochenderfer Christian Day Care.
Blessings,
Sharon Shepler

The history of Kochenderfer United Methodist Church dates back to 1872, when a group of believers left Salem UBC in the city of Lebanon to organize a church for the German-speaking residents living in North Lebanon Township.
John and Catherin Kochenderfer, who built a large room onto their home in order to hold services, led the group. They quickly outgrew this room and in 1874 built the "Little White Church" where the cemetary is now. The church, established as Zion's Bretheren in Christ Church in North Lebanon Township, was known as "Kochenderfer".
In 1932, a new brick church, across the street from the original white frame building, was dedicated. As the church grew, it became large enough to support its own pastor, and in 1940 the parsonage was built. In 1959, the Christian Education section was added.
In 1968, the Evangelical United Brethren Church merged with the Methodist Church and the church officially became known as Kochenderfer United Methodist Church.
On May 18, 2003, groundbreaking took place for our new Christian Life Center. After a year of construction, we celebrated the opening of the CLC on May 16, 2004. The Christian Life Center provides a larger space for the 10:30 AM contemporary worship, fellowship activities, concerts, and dramatic productions.

PLAY-N-WORSHIP is purposeful play and joy-filled worship videos unite to take your kids on an amazing
journey! They'll move to the music, connect with the song videos, and
discover Bible truths through planned play.
Every Bible Story Contains:
>an involving story trifold with pictures little ones love,
>a music video to reinforce the Bible point,
>5 specific play ideas that reinforce the Bible story, and
>a learning strategy that ensures your kids really learn and remember that God loves them!
Adventure awaits. Opportunity is all around us. In Chasing Daylight, city pastor Erwin McManus calls us to risk everything for a life of genuine purpose. Video teaching and creative learning materials make this a great Bible study for adults.
The biblical character of Jonathan was a man on a mission. In faith and doubt, he stepped out to launch a daring attack that energized his people. With that attitude, we can be movers and shakers rather than moaners and slackers. McManus culls eight characteristics of an adventurers heart, what he calls "The Jonathan Factor".
Real-life stories, personal interviews, and in-your-face teaching moments make the Chasing Daylight video an excellent resource for any Sunday school class, group Bible study, or church service. Curriculum materials take the leader step by step through the lesson, with lots of options for improvisation.

The Vision of KYAC is to show the world that young people can
make a difference and spread the love, compassion and understanding that Christ
shows us.
Building strong relationships with each other by GOing DEEPer in the word of God, spending time in fellowship together, showing the
love of Christ by serving our Church, Community and world through service and
missions projects.
Justyn was born and raised in Lebanon, Pa to Robert and Sharon Shepler.
He has attended Kochenderfer UMC for 30 years and is an alumni of KYAC.
He also works at New Covenant Christian School as a 10th grade Bible Teacher, Psychology Teacher, and Director of Facilities.
I fully feel that the youth of or world are the future and we need to empower them to go out and do the work that Christ calls us to do in Matthew 26: 16-20:
All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
I pray that our KYAC can become a beacon for young people who long for a place to belong and that we can show them all the love of God.

Welcome to the KCDC website! It has been my pleasure to be the director since November of 2007. I graduated from Seton Hill University with a Bachelor's Degree in Psycholgy and an Early Childhood Teaching Certificate. After completion of my undergraduate studies, I taught for four years in various daycare centers as a toddler and preschool teacher. However I never felt fully satisfied in my work. When this position opened in my church, I felt an urging to apply. Now I can feel that I am where God has intended me to be. I am able to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ with children and families without fearing repercussions in the public school setting.
I encourage you to explore our site and contact us for a tour. I would love to meet you and have a chance to share God's love with your child!

Just Walk Across
the Room
What if...
Twenty steps across a room could change your friends forever? In his book, Just Walk Across the Room, Pastor BILL HYBELS describes how taking a few steps and an interest in someone standing across the room can wind up impacting eternity.
Join us for a Church Experience that will refresh your appreciation for the Holy Spirits mysterious ways, rekindle your passion for people, and revive your belief that the single greatest gift you can give to your friends and family members is an introduction to the God who...
>created them
>loves them
>and has a purpose for their lives.
You will learn how to:
>Develop friendships with people far from God.
>Discover the stories behind their lifes journey
>Discern what next steps will help point them to faith.
Just Walk Across the Room will change your mind about evangelism. Pointing people to faith is something all of us can do.
